A lot of effort goes into getting an initiative approved. We identify benefits, build the business case, and explain why the investment matters. Then approval happens, delivery takes over, and the conversation shifts to scope, schedule, and cost.
But what happens to the value we said we were going to create?
This course is about keeping that conversation alive. We’ll look at how to bring different perspectives on value together, revisit the assumptions behind them, and help leaders make adjustments while there’s still time to influence the outcome.
The BRM doesn’t take over responsibility for delivering the benefits. They help the people who are accountable understand what’s happening and decide what to do about it.
What we’ll work on
- Asking questions that uncover what matters to different stakeholders.
- Bringing those perspectives together without reducing everything to financial ROI.
- Carrying intended benefits beyond approval into regular review conversations.
- Recognizing when assumptions, expectations, or conditions have changed.
- Helping leaders consider changes to scope and direction that improve value—not simply protect the original plan.
We’ll practise with a case that includes different stakeholder perspectives. You’ll leave with a way to gather those perspectives, document intended value, and support ongoing conversations through existing checkpoints.

Live, instructor-led online, with discussion, practical exercises, and a shared case to work through.
