A big part of your work is helping other people succeed. You bring people together, surface opportunities, clarify expectations, and help decisions move forward. But when someone asks what value BRM creates, it can be difficult to explain your part.
You can’t claim all the benefits of an initiative just because you helped it succeed. And reporting how many meetings you attended doesn’t tell anyone what changed because you were there.
This course is about making that contribution visible. We’ll work on capturing useful evidence as you go, checking your understanding with partners, and bringing those examples together into a credible account of BRM’s impact.
Sometimes the evidence shows a contribution worth continuing. Sometimes it shows that your effort needs to go somewhere else. Both matter.
What we’ll work on
- Distinguishing activity from contribution and outcomes.
- Recording what was happening, what you did, and what changed.
- Recognizing contributions that don’t translate neatly into financial ROI.
- Asking partners what difference your involvement made.
- Acknowledging other contributors and being clear about what the evidence supports.
- Using contribution reports to discuss priorities, capacity, and what would be lost if work stopped.
We’ll practise turning everyday examples into short contribution records and a useful report. The aim isn’t to create another reporting burden. It’s to build a habit of noticing, checking, and communicating the difference your work makes.

Live, instructor-led online, with discussion and practical exercises to capture contributions, test the evidence, and prepare a report.
Six hours, including five instructional hours, one 30-minute break, and two 15-minute breaks.
